The primary objective of the Division is to understand and reduce the vulnerability of the community to flooding and manage the flood risk through “engineered construction”, in a consistent and effective way throughout the country, thereby minimizing the impacts of floods on human safety, health, and welfare.

Our Directives
Develop Flood Management Plan for critical rivers through flood hazard and risk assessments.
Develop Integrated Storm water Management Plan for Thromdes and municipalities.
Provide Technical Assistance (TA) to Local Governments in the implementation and monitoring of flood protection works.
Develop and maintain GIS-based flood and storm data.
